🍂 Homemade Hospitality

You Don’t Need a Perfect Home to Make Someone Feel Welcome

Sometimes we make hospitality more complicated than it needs to be.

We think the house needs to be spotless, dinner needs to be impressive, the table needs to be beautifully set, and everything needs to be just right before we can invite someone in.

But biblical hospitality isn’t about impressing people.

It’s about loving them.

📖 “Use hospitality one to another without grudging.” — 1 Peter 4:9 KJV

Hospitality can be beautifully simple.

A warm muffin on a little plate.

A fresh cup of coffee.

An open chair at the kitchen table.

A conversation without watching the clock.

A listening ear when someone needs to talk.

A prayer offered before they leave.

Sometimes that’s enough. 🤎

🏡 Open Your Home—Not a Showroom

Our homes don’t have to look perfect before God can use them.

There may be dishes in the sink.

Toys may be scattered across the floor.

Laundry may still need folding.

Dinner might be something simple.

Invite them in anyway.

People don’t need perfection nearly as much as they need genuine connection.

When someone enters our home, may they remember less about how beautifully everything was decorated and more about how loved they felt while they were there.

☕ Hospitality Can Be Ministry

Hospitality gives us an opportunity to slow down and make room for another person.

To listen.

To encourage.

To pray.

To share what God has done in our lives.

And sometimes, to share the Gospel.

Your kitchen table can become a place of ministry without ever becoming anything fancy.

🍂 Today’s Challenge

Think of one person who could use some encouragement.

Send the message.

Make the coffee.

Put a couple of muffins on a plate.

And invite them to sit awhile.

Don’t worry about making everything perfect.

Just make them welcome.

🤎 A muffin.
A cup of coffee.
An open chair.
A listening ear.
A willing heart.

Sometimes that’s all hospitality needs to be.
