Sweet treats. Sweet truth. Sweeter Scripture.

šŸ‚ Encourage Someone

A Little Something Homemade Can Carry a Lot of Encouragement

You never really know what someone may be carrying.

The neighbor who waves every morning. The coworker who always seems cheerful. The friend who says, ā€œI’m fine.ā€ The church member who quietly slips into their usual seat each Sunday.

Sometimes the people around us are walking through difficult weeks without saying much at all.

Today at Goodies and the Gospelā„¢, let’s turn something homemade into an opportunity to encourage someone.

šŸ“– ā€œWherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.ā€ — 1 Thessalonians 5:11 KJV

šŸ¤Ž Encouragement Can Be Simple

Encouraging someone doesn’t always require knowing exactly what to say.

Sometimes it looks like noticing them.

Bake a cinnamon roll. Wrap it simply. Write a Scripture verse on a little card. Then deliver it to someone who could use a reminder that they’re being thought of and prayed for.

Your handwritten card could simply say:

ā€œThinking of you today and praying for you. I hope this little something homemade reminds you that you are loved.ā€

Then add a favorite KJV verse beneath it.

It isn’t really about the cinnamon roll.

It’s about taking the time to say:

I see you.
I care about you.
I’m praying for you.

šŸ Today’s Challenge

Think of one person who’s having a difficult week.

Bake or pick up a cinnamon roll, write out a Scripture card by hand, and deliver it.

You don’t need to fix what they’re going through.

Just encourage them while they’re going through it.

God can use even the simplest acts of kindness to strengthen a weary heart.

Bake something.
Write the Scripture.
Say a prayer.
Encourage someone.
šŸ¤Ž

And perhaps while you’re at it, make two—because there may be someone else the Lord brings to mind along the way.
