Finding God’s Goodness in the Ordinary

As we continue Week 2: A Thankful Heart with Goodies and the Gospel™, today we’re slowing down to notice the blessings that can be the easiest to overlook.

📖 “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” — Psalm 100:4 KJV

It’s easy to thank God for the big things—an answered prayer, unexpected provision, healing, a new opportunity, or an exciting milestone.

But what about the ordinary blessings?

The warm cup of coffee waiting in the morning.

Food in the refrigerator.

Clean clothes folded in a basket.

The sound of your family moving through the house.

A Bible resting on the table.

Another ordinary day to live, serve, love, and worship the Lord.

These things may seem small because we experience them so often, but familiar blessings are still blessings.

🤎 Today’s Gratitude Challenge

Take a piece of paper or open your journal and write down:

5 ordinary blessings you often overlook.

Don’t search for something extraordinary. Look around you right where you are.

Then, beside each blessing, simply write:

“Thank You, Lord.”

Gratitude changes where we place our attention. Instead of continually looking at what we wish were different, we begin recognizing how much of God’s goodness is already surrounding us.

Today, don’t wait for something extraordinary before giving thanks.

Notice the ordinary.
Remember the Giver.
And give thanks today. 🍂
